From first click to multi-site control.
This guide explains how to install SuperGSC, connect Search Console with read-only access and use every portfolio and enhanced-report module.
Introduction
SuperGSC is a Chrome extension that adds a portfolio view directly inside Google Search Console. It is built for professionals managing multiple properties: agencies, consultants, SEO teams, site publishers and network owners.
The extension does not replace Search Console. It adds a management layer, then links back to native reports whenever you need to investigate further.
Installation
Open the Chrome Web Store listing and click “Add to Chrome”.
SuperGSC requests access to Search Console, Chrome local storage and Google authentication.
Go to search.google.com/search-console. The “Portfolio view” link appears in the navigation.
Grant read-only access to the account that owns your GSC properties.
After the first synchronization, SuperGSC loads every property available to the connected Google account.
Google sign-in
Authentication uses the official Google Search Console API with the webmasters.readonly scope. This scope can read properties, performance and sitemaps, but cannot delete a property or change its configuration.
Why is sign-in required?
An active Search Console session does not automatically allow an extension to call the API. Chrome therefore shows an explicit Google authorization screen the first time you connect.
What happens after sign-in?
- The property list is retrieved.
- Performance metrics are aggregated for 7, 28 and 90 days.
- Sitemaps are checked.
- A local cache speeds up future openings.
Portfolio view
The portfolio view is the SuperGSC homepage. It displays global KPIs, important alerts and a table containing every property.
| Column | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Site / tags | Property, favorites, categories and quick links. |
| Clicks / impressions | Period volume and change versus the previous period. |
| CTR / position | Relative performance and average position. |
| Trend | Mini-chart showing daily movement. |
| Keywords | Number of growing and declining queries. |
| Referring domains | Unique sites reported by the native Links report. |
| AI visibility | AI impressions when the report is available for the property. |
| Sitemap / pages | Sitemap health and submitted or active page count. |
Clicking a row opens the site’s quick summary. Icons below the domain open the native Indexing, Links, Sitemaps and Performance reports directly.
Tags and favorites
Tags organize a portfolio around your own logic: clients, teams, priorities, site types or campaigns.
Create and manage a tag
- Click “New tag” or “Manage tags”.
- Choose a name and color.
- Select properties in the table.
- Use the bulk “Add tag” action.
A tag can be hidden without being deleted. Properties keep the association, but the tag no longer takes up space in the filter bar.
Combine several tags
OR mode shows properties with at least one selected tag. AND mode requires every selected tag.
Filters, sorting and periods
Search accepts a domain or tag name. Filters then narrow the view by trend, sitemap status, severity or favorites.
- 7 days: quickly detect recent changes.
- 28 days: a more stable monthly view.
- 90 days: read longer trends with less daily noise.
Every period is compared with the immediately preceding period of the same length. A 28-day selection therefore compares the current 28 days with the previous 28 days.
Quick site details
The right-hand panel shows key indicators without leaving the portfolio: clicks, impressions, CTR, position, query count, referring domains, trend and sitemap status.
It also shows top queries, gains, losses and a button leading to the complete Search Console report.
Errors and resolution prompts
When a detectable error is available, SuperGSC can display a summary and a ready-to-copy prompt. The prompt includes the context needed to request technical help from your preferred AI tool. It never fixes anything automatically.
Enhanced performance reports
Inside a property, SuperGSC extends the Performance report with a more decision-oriented view.
- KPIs compared with the previous period.
- Clicks and impressions chart with a daily tooltip.
- Global position movement.
- Top 1–3, 4–10, 11–20, 21–50 and 51–100 distribution.
- Growing, declining, new, lost and shared queries.
- Main URL associated with each query.
- Country, device and search-type filters.
Countries, devices and search types
Web, Image, Video or News filters and Desktop, Mobile and Tablet devices rerun the analysis with the selected context. The country filter limits metrics and queries to the chosen territory.
Annotations
Annotations preserve events on charts: migrations, redesigns, deployments, link campaigns, editorial updates or technical incidents.
Choose a date, title, color and scope. Annotations are stored locally and remain attached to the property.
Keyword clusters
SuperGSC automatically groups similar queries by their meaningful terms. The goal is to reveal dominant topics, growing content and areas where several queries should be analyzed together.
Clustering is a reading aid, not an absolute semantic classification. Results depend on the volume and wording of queries available in GSC.
Indexing and sitemaps
The portfolio displays sitemap status and submitted page count. Property summary cards provide quick links to indexed pages, sitemaps and URL Inspection.
JobPosting and BroadcastEvent pages. For several standard pages, Google recommends an up-to-date sitemap with <lastmod>.Referring domains
When the native Links report is accessible, SuperGSC reads the number of unique source sites and displays it in the portfolio, side panel and site summary.
This value comes from Search Console and does not necessarily match the backlink count reported by a third-party SEO tool.
Generative AI visibility
Some properties have access to a Google report dedicated to AI-enhanced search results. When SuperGSC detects it, an “AI visibility” card and column display available impressions and open the native page directly.
If Google has not enabled the report for a property, SuperGSC does not show the card.
Data used
| Data | Source | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| GSC properties and metrics | Official Google API | Local Chrome cache |
| Sitemaps | Official Google API | Local Chrome cache |
| Referring domains / indexed pages / AI report | Property’s GSC interface | Limited local cache |
| Tags, favorites and annotations | Created by the user | Chrome local storage |
| OAuth token | Chrome Identity / Google | Managed by Chrome |
SuperGSC does not use this data for advertising, profiling or resale.
Privacy mode
The eye button blurs domains, URLs and queries visible in SuperGSC. Use it before a video call, screenshot or screen recording.
Blurring is visual: the data remains available locally and reappears when privacy mode is disabled.
Disconnecting and disabling
Disconnect Google
In Settings, “Disconnect from Google” removes the active authorization. The dashboard is immediately hidden and displays a sign-in prompt. Tags and preferences remain saved.
Disable SuperGSC
The popup toggle closes every injected interface and restores native Search Console. Turning it back on re-enables the extension without deleting local data.
Uninstall the extension
A full uninstall may remove the extension’s local storage. Export any important information before removing it permanently.
Troubleshooting
The portfolio view is empty
- Check that the SuperGSC toggle is ON.
- Reload the extension in
chrome://extensions. - Refresh the Search Console tab.
- Reconnect Google if the central screen asks you to.
A property is missing
Check that the connected Google account has access to the property. A property missing from Google’s returned list cannot be added manually by SuperGSC.
Metrics show zero
Temporarily remove country, device or search-type filters. Also check the period and confirm that the property has GSC data for that period.
The Search Console interface changed
SuperGSC integrates with a Google interface that may evolve. Reload the extension and visit the Support page if a native module is no longer detected.
Known limitations
- Search Console data may be delayed by Google’s processing schedule.
- The API limits the number of rows returned by some reports.
- Generative AI reports are not available for every property.
- Referring domains come from the native interface and may become temporarily unavailable after a Search Console update.
- Clustering uses only the queries actually returned.
